Brief Description of the county

Otsego County is in central New York State, to the west of Albany, southeast of Utica, and northeast of Binghamton. The county is part of the Mohawk Valley region of New York State. The county is considered by some to belong to the Southern Tier region of New York State.  Otsego County comprises the Oneonta, NY Micropolitan Statistical Area.

As a member of the Four County Library System, the Cherry Valley Memorial Library offers community members access to its extensive print collection as well as 24 hour access to online electronic resources.

The Edmeston Free Library operates as a local Otsego County branch of the Four County Library System.

At the Fenimore Art Museum, you’ll have the opportunity to see world-class collections of Folk Art, Fine Art, and Native American Art. Visitors will stand face-to-face with carvings, quilts, paintings, weathervanes, and figureheads from ships....

The library is a member of the Four County Library System, they offer an online ebook library and many educational classes for people in the community.

We proudly offer 12,000 books, 500 videos plus more all of which stay in Otego. New books join our collection weekly and we have activities for both the young and young at heart.
