Brief Description of the county
Chenango County is in the approximate center of the state, west of Albany, north of Binghamton, and southeast of Syracuse. The county is considered to be in the Southern Tier region of New York State.
The Afton Free Library has proudly served its community for over 75 years and is a member of the Four County Library System.
The Society collects, preserves, and publishes materials that record the history of Afton and its people and maintains a museum and an archive of this history.
