Mobile App $225K Competition

First Lady Michelle Obama and the U.S. Department of Education (ED) formally launched a competition to promote the development of mobile app solutions that will help students navigate education and career pathways, including career and technical education (CTE). The competition is a part of the First Lady's "Reach Higher" initiative, which seeks to inspire every student in America to take charge of their future by completing their education past high school, whether at a professional training program, a community college, or a four-year college or university.

This Challenge asks developers, educators, and counselors to work together in the creation of apps that will help students learn about all career options, while increasing the capacity of career counselors to assist students in planning for their futures.
