Coerll Center for Open Educational Resources and Language Learning (COERLL)

The Center for Open Educational Resources and Language Learning (COERLL), run by the University of Texas at Austin, is dedicated to creating and spreading foreign language OERs to the public to promote bilingual and multilingual learning. COERLL offers resources and materials for 16 different languages According to its website, COERLL “is one of 16 National Foreign Language Resource Centers (LRC's) funded by the U.S. Department of Education.”

 

COERLL’s work is organized around seven basic areas, which are:

  • Applied linguistic research

  • Teaching materials

  • Language assessment

  • Teacher development

  • Less commonly taught languages

  • K-12 initiatives

  • Outreach and dissemination.
